A new scam targeting Western Union Point of Sale equipment has been reported. Please alert your Associates.
A USB drive is shipped, possibly via a prominent carrier (USPS/UPS/FedEx), directly to the Store with instructions to insert it
(for one of a number of reasons). This gives the fraudster remote access to the PC.
Western Union will NOT ship any USBs to stores.
If you get a USB shipped to your store from “Western Union” please destroy it, and contact your Compliance Officer.
As Always – JUST HANG UP – NO Transactions over the phone whatsoever.
