Use caution when cashing checks from Tax Refund Agencies
o Call Maker to verify check
o Google search phone number / maker name / bank
Know your customer Have checks endorsed at your teller window
If check is payable to more than one individual, make sure they are both present and sign the check in front of you
If possible use the Treasury Check Information System (TCIS) to verify check issue amount https://tcva.fms.treas.gov
